Job Details:
PurposeThe Senior Director of Volunteer Leadership leads a team focused on facilitating and executing strategic engagement of the university's most generous donors through board membership, annual meetings, and communications. In concert with the Executive Director, this role will provide vision and strategy to build board culture in alignment with university priorities and goals, to raise the board experience and catalyze board member engagement, and to provide stability and continuity in a fast-paced and changing philanthropic environment. The Senior Director will oversee direct reports that together manage five president-sponsored board memberships, directly oversee UT's Development Board, and lend their team's event expertise to other regional development programs as required. The role partners closely with various stakeholders including senior administrators, development colleagues, Texas Global, Texas Exes, faculty, and students to execute an outstanding board member and/or guest experience.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with direct reports to lead Presidential and VPD prospect level engagement strategy that aligns with the UT mission and demonstrates the impact of philanthropy.Manage direct reports, overseeing International Board of Advisors, Campaign Volunteer Leaders, Longhorn Family Partners, UT Beautification Council and President's Associates
Implement team processes that ensure a consistent event experience for guests, speakers, university leadership and internal working partners

Execute a calendar of approximately 20-25 events annually that includes constituency annual meetings, on-campus or regional VPD and presidential development events as well as stewardship events
Serve as the program content lead for constituency annual meetings, on-campus or regional VPD and presidential development events as well as stewardship events
Ability to travel for domestic as well as international programs
Annual review of constituency by-laws and member expectations
Provide board chair, executive committee, and general members with a first-class board experience; must be confident engaging with members directly
Research and leverage data in VIP database to keep informed of member activity and create recommendations for innovative programming, donor engagement and recognition
Lead annual member nomination, recruitment and term renewal procedures and schedule
Implement and maintain system for tracking membership levels and terms in VIP
Track annual dues accounts; provide bi-annual report out to Executive Director and VPD on income and spending
In conjunction with Donor Relations' data expertise, maintain associated reporting suites and lead development/remediation strategy as required
In conjunction with Executive Director, develop criteria for measuring success, benchmark results with established goals, and advise Texas Development leadership towards ongoing progress
Serve as primary director, manage communications, and oversee speaker invitations
Lead program strategy, timelines, and production meetings; identify and communicate event requirements, ensuring that they are fulfilled
Develop, track, and communicate constituency annual calendar and deliverables to internal partners
In addition to event materials, collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to produce annual rosters, demographics documents, newsletters, solicitations, and other standard communications
Keep informed of latest ideas, developments, and trends in top donor engagement strategies by collaborating with a network of professional colleagues and resources
Serve as leader and expertise for Texas Development community on best membership and engagement practices; help maintain community resources like DevConnect, Box templates, etc.
Ensure that initiatives are planned and executed efficiently and are in compliance with university, foundation and federal regulations
Perform or assist with donor relations processes, events, communications, and activities as requested
Identify methods for streamlining and enhancing efforts, particularly as they relate to donor relations
Master's degree and at least seven years of professional experience assisting with fundraising programs or performing complex administrative functions requiring high levels of output, professionalism, and strategic alignment
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
Experience managing and executing complex projects simultaneously, sequentially and at short notice
High levels of organization, self-motivation, and customer service
Capable of working independently and under pressure, while also engaging in collaboration between teams
Demonstrated high degree of proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Tableau
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Salary Range$100,000+ depending on qualifications
