Essential Job Functions

  • Executes quality control measures for all floorplans,ensuring accuracy of store/planogram (POG) assignments, compliance with merchandise adjacency criteria and/or corporate standards; emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and an inquisitive mindset
  • Accountable for data integrity of all planogram assignments to ensure accurate fixture quantification.
  • Utilizes all appropriate tools and levers to maximize space productivity, minimize unproductive inventories and ensure that financial targets are met; actively strives to identify opportunities and make recommendations to optimize space productivity
  • Participates in continual process improvement, evaluates planogram/ merchandise plan effectiveness and makes recommendations to maximize workflow efficiencies.
  • Work effectively with a cross-functional team.
  • Works cross-functionally to gain alignment on merchandise plans for new/remodel stores in accordance to strategic objectives while achieving the highest possible profitability.
  • Work in conjunction with the Space Management group to ensure all POGs/Displays are appropriately placed on the floorplans and correct POGs assigned in accordance with the annual reset schedule
  • Create, publish and release floorplans viewable to all stores, including New and Remodel.
  • Using creativity, analytical and project management skills, plan, develop and determine appropriate course of action for all floorplan layout projects
  • Partner with appropriate members of the category management team to ensure a collaborative and consistent approach is taken towards the business strategies and/or imperatives.
  • Provide scheduled and ad-hoc reports as needed for store groupings based on assortments, footages, fixture, display, prototype, etc.
  • Travel to store locations as necessary

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or the equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of merchandising principles and retail operations are necessary.
  • Product knowledge, understanding of inventory principles, interpersonal, analytical and project management skills are required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience using JDA Space or Floor Planning or other Space and Floor Planning software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc. is required.
  • The ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, exercise patience and diplomacy in all situations is necessary.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills as well as strong creative merchandising skills required.
