Austin Oaks Hospital is currently accepting applicants for Collector. This candidate will maximize cash collections and minimize bad debt expense, while maintaining the integrity of each patient's account and maintaining good customer relations.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Must actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals for the hospital.
  • Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.
  • Responsible for timely follow-up on Accounts and for accurate review of contractual on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for entering all communications regarding patients in the computer system.
  • Responsible for recommending Bad Debt timely.
  • Responsible for responding to all patient and insurance inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assist Business Office Manager when needed.
  • Filing all paperwork in patient files.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must be computer literate and able to use a typewriter and calculator.
  • Knowledge of word processing and Excel
  • Must be bondable
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Some college.

Experience:

Required: one-year experience in an insurance claims submission and basic audit skills position.

Preferred: Prior billing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
