Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Building Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, programming, and maintaining building automation and control systems. Their primary objective is to ensure the uninterrupted operation and optimization of building systems while ensuring compliance with safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability standards. The Building Automation Controls Engineer will play a critical role in enhancing the overall performance and efficiency of our clients' buildings.

Responsibilities:
Install, program, and configure building automation and control systems, including control panels, sensors, actuators, HVAC equipment, lighting systems, and other related devices.

Conduct inspections and functional tests to verify the correct operation of building automation systems.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues with building automation controls by utilizing diagnostic tools and software.

Collaborate with key stakeholders & vendors to identify system requirements, proposed enhancements, and implement upgrades or modifications to existing the infrastructure .

Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, calibration, and adjusting sensors, valves, and controllers to ensure optimal system performance.

Regularly monitor the BAS system to analyze the data and identify system alarms & anomalies, make necessary adjustments to optimize energy consumption, improve occupant comfort, and reduce operational costs.

Respond promptly to service requests and emergencies by conducting repairs, replacing faulty components, or reprogramming system configurations.

Maintain accurate documentation of system installations, upgrades, repairs, and changes for future reference and compliance purposes.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to building automation controls.

Utilization of JLL CMMS system corrigo to capture service information and approval authorization.

Evaluate the technical feasibility of projects and define the best integration solutions to deliver the best outcomes for our customers

Define and implement new smart building fault detection & diagnostics (FDD) installations

Keep informed on industry trends, advancements in building automation technologies and energy reduction techniques


Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in installing, programming, and maintaining building automation and control systems.

Strong knowledge of various building automation systems , such as JCI-Metasys, BACnet, Watchdog/Vertiv, Site Scan, & Web-control/Automated Logic

Proficient in reading, interpreting, and creating control system schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Skilled in using various diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and software applications for troubleshooting and system programming.

Ability to analyze complex system data, identify issues, and implement appropriate solutions.

Excellent understanding of HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, electrical circuits, controls, and mechanical equipment

Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices in building automation.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

The ability to author, review, and work under the conditions of a MOP


Preferred:
Certification, license, or degree in HVAC, electrical technology, or a related field.

Additional certifications in building automation systems, such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA).

Experience with building management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS), and other related software applications.

Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and protocols in building automation.

Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and IoT integration in building automation controls.

Experience in commissioning and integrating third-party systems with building automation controls.
