JOB SUMMARY
As a Fire Sprinkler Technician, you will work with some of the largest and most successful companies in the world and will exposed to continued training and development in the fire sprinkler area. Our Fire Sprinkler Technicians install, inspect, and test fire sprinkler systems such as wet sprinklers, pre-action sprinklers, dry standpipes, fire hydrants, and fire pumps. They also repair fire sprinkler systems in primarily commercial buildings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • All team members must embody the company mission to provide protection for people, property, and the environment in all aspects of their job.
  • Perform service, inspection, and testing tasks on fire sprinkler systems and related components according to applicable codes and standards and ORR work instructions.
  • Measure and cut steel or plastic pipes for installation using blueprints and local building codes as a guide.
  • Attach sprinkler heads and fittings to pipes and ensure pipe systems do not have any leaks.
  • Use equipment such as ladder and scaffolding to perform installations in commercial construction.
  • Provide ongoing status of jobs to project manager for billings and scheduling purposes.
  • Conduct requested inspections and tests with AHJ / Fire Marshal.
  • Perform annual & quarterly inspections & tests on above-mentioned systems.
  • Perform deficiency repairs.
  • Perform 5-year inspections, testing and repairs.
  • Pipe fabrication cut and thread piping.
  • Inspect pipes and piping systems to access their quality.
  • Submit thorough written reports and photographic documentation as needed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain company supplied tools and equipment.
  • Comply with company, customer, NFPA, and AHJ codes and regulations as applicable.
  • Respond to emergency service requests and take appropriate action.
  • Perform in trouble shooting, repair and replacement of system equipment.
  • Review inspection and test results with the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • CAFSA certified preferred.
  • Completed apprenticeship training programs that last 4-5 years and combine classroom instruction with paid, on-the-job training, preferred.
  • Experience in inspection and testing of Fire Sprinkler Systems, preferred.
  • Experience with the following Fire Sprinkler system types: Wet, Dry, Stand Pipe, Pre-action, Deluge, Fire pumps, Backflow Preventers, preferred.
  • NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to understand complex blueprints
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes for fire sprinkler pipe specifications.
  • Ability to progress through NICET certification and/or to obtain local Fire Sprinkler licenses where applicable.
  • Ability to develop rapport with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team.
  • Strong time management skills.

  • Organized and detail-orientated.
  • Possess problem solving skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This is a remote position that would be deployed from the associate's home to local job sites for installs, service, or repairs.
  • Company vehicle, tools, technology, and equipment provided.
  • Occasional on-call days and/or overtime required for unscheduled service needs.
  • Job duties require the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and crawl into tight or awkward places.
  • Overnight travel required up to 25% of the time.
