Job Summary:

As an experienced Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of all on and off-road construction equipment used by our telecommunications team in their assigned region. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of regional equipment strategies and plans that fall within the overall framework of the company wide strategy. You will ensure the optimization and efficient use of vehicles and construction equipment within the region, in consultation with both regional operations leaders and the corporate equipment group.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all the equipment in an assigned region: including, but not limited to facilitating their acquisition, transfers, and disposals, maintenance in accordance with company policy and vendor recommendations, financial reporting, analysis, & planning
  • Track, report and forecast equipment metrics (including fuel consumption, maintenance spend, MVIs, asset utilization)
  • Acquire, analyze and interpret real-time equipment data utilizing in house and third-party provider tools to produce proper documentation/control and operational recommendations
  • Develop and implement KPIs that support continuous improvement and accountability
  • Manage and mentor staff with a current knowledge of all applicable federal/state government regulations, Department of Transportation (DOT) obligations, and safety policies
  • and implement functional policies and program changes in the assigned region
  • Liaise with regional operations staff to understand short-term and long-term demand and plan the number and type of fleet leases/purchases/rentals required

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of successful experience in an Operations Equipment Manager or equivalent position
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large fleet of civil\utility equipment (500+ pieces)
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining a preventative maintenance & repairs program
  • Experience in engagement and resolution with equipment suppliers on warranty repairs and availability concerns
  • Experience doing equipment lifecycle planning and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Commercial Vehicles in the United States
  • Experience as a change manager and/or change agent at a senior level
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • familiarity with J.D. Edwards would be an asset
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in United States
  • Proven ability to mentor and manage a team of 4-5 employees


Working Conditions:

  • This is a hybrid position, with some flexibility of working remotely and in-office
  • Some travel to various business unit sites required
