This hourly, non-benefits eligible position is scheduled on an intermittent basis for Texas Performing Arts events. Additional hours may be possible for non-event shifts when needed. This position is renewed on an annual basis and contingent on performance and continued funding.

Purpose

This position serves as a Manager on Duty (MOD) for the Ticket Office during Texas Performing Arts events. The role manages night of show operations in the ticket office and delivers excellent customer service. The position will primarily work evening and weekend show shifts but may also have opportunities to provide administrative and customer service support for shifts during regular business hours if available.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) for the Texas Performing Arts ticket office for assigned events. Oversee window and phone sales, resolve customer ticket issues, and manage the ticket sellers during event shifts.

  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of TPA's ticketing system as required to manage event day operations.

  • Monitor the access management (ticket scanning) system. Resolve any scanning hardware or software issues.

  • Provide event, venue and ticket information to patrons. Develop a comprehensive and accurate knowledge of TPA's venues, events and ticketing policies.

  • Ensure the highest level of customer service. Manage customer service issues such as reseating needs, accessibility concerns, and duplicate or fraudulent tickets.

  • Facilitate special services including artist or press Will Call tickets, VIP tickets, rush tickets, and guest lists.

  • Create and distribute reports including drop counts, final audits, and the end of night financial settlement.

  • Balance monies at the end of the shift. Adhere to all financial and cash handling procedures.

  • Open and close the ticket office as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in event ticketing.

  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment to accomplish live events.

  • Experience managing part-time team members.

  • Excellent and pro-active communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain a friendly, calm and service-oriented demeanor.

  • Strong aptitude for technology and software systems.

  • Available to work evenings and weekends on an intermittent, as-needed basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Paciolan or Archtics ticking systems.

  • Experience managing student employees.

  • Experience working in performing arts, museums, cultural organizations, or in an academic environment.

Hourly Rate

$23/hour

Working Conditions

Work Shift
  • Work is offered based on availability and event schedules.

  • Work may occur on evenings, weekends, and holidays as well as during normal business hours.
