JOB SUMMARY:

Marina Operations Supervisor's primary responsibility is to provide leadership, direction, supervision and training of the dockhand crew, including, but not limited to marina gas dock and slips, marina hut dock, yacht club dock and maintaining water sport equipment and slips. The Supervisor is to be directly involved in maintenance and repairs for all marina slips & watercraft equipment and ensure that all docks are well-maintained, safe and boaters observe all marine rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of
    • All hotel features/services, hours of operation
    • All watercraft equipment & inventory
    • Water sport activities and programs
    • Marina & watercraft offerings
  • Ensure the smooth daily operations of the Marina docks
    • Gas dock, slips and hut dock
    • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of all areas
    • Assure proper equipment for marina activities and programs
    • Inspect associate uniforms.
  • Responsible for reporting inventory levels of all equipment and placing orders with the assistance of the Marina Manager on needed equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Life Guard Certified, CPR Certified & Current Boaters Safety Certification.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory MVR.
  • General seamanship knowledge that includes boating right-of-way rules, basic navigation and inshore and offshore mooring techniques.
  • Must have solid understanding of marina operations and watercraft.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional communication, organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work one-on-one, both in person and by phone.
  • Pleasant and out-going personality.
  • General computer knowledge.
  • Maintain proper associate uniform standards and required footwear according to the Marina guidelines.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions common to Texas.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Must be able lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
