Job Description

LCRA has one High Line Worker I position within the Line Operations department. This position is based out of the Western Maintenance Center (WMF) in Marble Falls, TX.

You will be trusted to:

Assists journey-level personnel from the ground in the construction and/or maintenance and repair of
transmission lines. Learns more advanced tasks associated with high line work.
* Assists more experienced employees in performing work on transmission power lines, rights of way,
transmission steel structure foundation installations, and with site preparation.
* Assists in operation and maintenance of equipment such as bucket trucks, boom trucks, winch trucks,
etc. used in performing aerial work.
* Prepares and transports equipment and material for daily projects.
* Responds to emergency and other call-out situations as required.
* Learns to perform aerial work. Climbs wood and steel transmission structures to extreme heights using
proper safety equipment.
* Participates in training to gain greater knowledge and experience of procedures, tool use, and
equipment operation associated with high line work.
* Learns and follows all safety, environmental and departmental policies and procedures.
* Performs work by traveling with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants,
transmission lines, etc.) as scheduled.
* May perform or focus on ground/office duties that assist the supervisors and crew members.

You qualify with:

- Zero or more years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line construction and/or maintenance work or related field involving work at heights or relevant experience. .
- Driver's license

* Knowledge of transmission construction and/or maintenance operations
* Knowledge of heavy equipment operations
* Knowledge of transmission construction and/or maintenance materials
* Knowledge of hot-stick procedures
* Knowledge of rigging equipment
* Knowledge of approved transmission line grounding procedures
* Knowledge of LCRA's safety and environmental policies, practices, and procedures
* Basic skill in reading and interpreting diagrams and prints
* Ability to stay alert for extended periods of time
* Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Ability to work in standing, climbing, stooping and walking positions
* Ability to climb wood and steel structures up to extreme heights
