The IRS is hiring 350 Contact Representatives (325 English and 25 Bilingual Spanish), also known as customer service representatives, and 80 Tax Examining Technicians for the Austin, TX Service Center. During this in-person hiring event, we will be reviewing resumes and education transcripts (if applicable) and making job offers to qualified applicants on-the-spot.
About the positions:
Contact Representatives:
As a Contact Representative, you will provide over-the-phone technical assistance to individuals and businesses. You will apply the tax code while addressing a wide range of issues to assist taxpayers in understanding and meeting their tax responsibilities.
Tax Examining Technicians:
As a Tax Examiner, you will respond to taxpayer correspondence and other inquiries regarding a variety of tax returns, related schedules, and other documentation. This involves resolving taxpayer account issues and advising of enforcement actions.
